The Temporary Covid-19 Wage Subsidy Scheme was announced to replace the previous Employer Covid-19 Refund Scheme. The old scheme refunded employers €203 per week and this new scheme refunds up to €410 per week.
This new scheme is available to employers from the 26th March 2020 for an initial period of 12 weeks.
It designed to help employers and businesses that are significantly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. It provides employers with financial support to pay their employees through their payroll system during this crisis.
Employers need to apply to Revenue to operate the scheme and this is done through MyEnquiries on Revenue’s Online System (ROS).
